Mobile New York 3/7 intrepid cheap eats and lots of steps

Wow what a day - 23,000 steps!
We ate breakfast in the hotel as were given vouchers for half price. Great buffet of hot and cold food, bottomless tea/coffee, fruits, pastries and waffles too. Certainly not cheap at $64 but with a view of Times Square and the Empire State Building we sat and filled our tummy’s and grabbed an apple to go. We checked out and stowed our luggage (moving hotels today). When DH and I were here 11 years ago intrepid was high on his list to do but it was away for refurbishment so was a must this time. We walked west on 47th only about 15-20 mins from our hotel and queued up ready for rope drop. This place is huge and well worth a visit and the money. We bought a wrap for the kids to share ($10) and 2 diet Pepsi’s ($7). Our hotel had given us a $20 voucher for the bar or deli so we used that earlier to get a sandwich, 2 bags of crisps and a muffin. We ate downstairs in the food area and carried on our visit. We spent around 4hours here. We had a steady stroll south to the high line but the kids were grumbling so headed north back to the hotel (quick stop at baskin robins/ dunkin doughnuts for 2 iced coffee, one iced Lemon tea and a single ice cream ($<10))and over to 36th with our suitcases. We unpacked and chilled a little with aching feet as it’s been very warm today. We headed back out around 5.30 and looked for a shop DS had seen online then over to 8th ave. 6 slices of pizza at 2 bro’s pizza ($14- the sausage was lush - don’t be put off by them re heating it is very nice pizza) and then 7/11 for slurpees at DD request ($7 for 3 medium) and into Times Square to Hersey’s. walked back to hotel via a store and picked up some bud light with lime for DH and I as we enjoyed it when in Florida and in PJ’s for 9pm! Today’s big learning point - check there is a memory card in the camera before you leave home and not on day 2 of your trip! Gutted!
