JFK any car hire recommends please?

My daughter is planning a trip to Syracuse in February flying into JFK can anyone recommend the best car hire option for her please. We tend to use Alamo when going to Orlando but having never been to New York we are a bit in the dark here. Any other tips to bear in mind also appreciated. As always thanks in advance.

We used Alamo, everything was fine. Car was allocated to us and depot nowhere near the size of that at MCO. I vaguely remember having to rent an electronic toll device and sticking it to the windscreen. May just have been because of where we were driving to, left the detail with DH for that.
