We really need to get our daughter to eat and have her insulin before they open their presents or the excitement causes her to collapse.
So Christmas morning is the only day of the year they are allowed to eat upstairs, not only upstairs but in our bed! They all pile in and have crumpets (for for my husband and I) then we go and see if Santa has been lol |

Full English with black pudding and homemade bubble & squeak. Dinner won't be until 4 or 5, so plenty of time to get an appetite back.

We buy frozen pastries from the local farm shop. Pop them out to defrost and prove over- night and shove them in the oven whilst DS opens his stocking.
We have granola, yogurts, fruits etc too and lots of nice jams. I bought an espresso martini marmalade for OH. I think it sounds rank but he’ll like it! I can’t be bothered to make a mess in the kitchen and then have to clear it before we get going on the turkey. We just want to get on with the day 😊 Edited at 07:55 PM. |

When my Mum does christmas dinner we have pastries - croissants, pain au chocolat, pain au raisin and cinnamon swirls - along with champers and fresh orange juice and apple juice from M&S. The frozen pastries from Tesco are great. Mum doesn’t serve dinner until 4pm, so it’s perfect.
However this year my uncle is doing Christmas dinner and won’t budge from 2pm, so we’re doing our nice breakfast (and our presents to each other) on Boxing Day, and having a more modest breakfast on Christmas Day before meeting up for a dog walk.
