When would you go back with wound

Tomorrow will be 2 weeks since my daughter had a mole removed from her leg, the doctor put 3 stitches in it. After a week it was still very painful, red and hot to touch so the doctor gave her 500mg Flucloxacilin 1 four times a day.
Wound kept dry & clean.
Last weekend her bloods were extreme high and the the wound had opened with pus. The stitches where not open but the skin had split around the stitches. On Monday she spent all day in hospital on two drips, one antibiotics and the other to bring her blood sugars down due to ketones. The doctor doubled her antibiotic dose and told to take them until next Monday. They removed the stitches and advised us that the infection had been stitched in so there was nothing we could do to prevent it from happening.
It’s not gone any worse but it’s not gone any better at all.
It is open, the edges are very red and the open area is yellow/green pus and quite deep.
It’s kept dry, gently bathed with cooled boiled salty water once a day.
At what point would you go back?
The mole was the size of a small raisin, the wound is now the size of a 10p coin.
It has not got any better, I am taking photos every day and there is no improvement but it’s not worse either.
I know diabetics heal slower.
I am thinking to wait and see how it is on Monday when the antibiotics run out?
Would you agree? Or go back tomorrow?

Could you ring your gp surgery for advice? Or maybe ask a pharmacist to have a look, they should be able to tell you whether it needs looking at by a doctor or not. Not quite the same, but a few years ago I had an insect bite. My leg became very hot & swollen. I went to the chemist to ask about it & the pharmacist told me I needed to see a doctor.

I would ring NHS direct, they are likely to tell you to seek medical advice asap. Were you not given a number to contact from doctor who did the surgery for advice. I would not leave until Monday. Hopefully she will be on the mend soon. X

I'd ring the diabetic clinic for some advise, they are specialised and know about healing times etc. I hope she gets better soon.

I did not think about ringing our diabetic team. I don’t know where my head is at times!
I will ring them tomorrow morning. It’s a vicious cycle really, the infection is causing high blood sugars and the high blood sugars are preventing healing.
She is a pin cushion at the moment having so much insulin!

I would go back when I wasn't happy about it, I wouldn't put a timescale on it.

I'd see your local Practice Nurse. Chances are they're trained in Diabetes AND wound care. Good luck and speedy recovery to your daughter xx
