Universal Express Passes

We are going to Universal 1st Sept to 8th Sept 2019... Will we need Express Passes? Aiming to have a bit of a chilled week between the 3 Universal parks as we will have spent 2 weeks at Disney. I'm just not sure whether we will have to have Express passes and will need to stay at one of the 3 top hotels or whether one of the value ones with extra hours will be enough! Any advice welcome!

I think if you’re going for a week, Express Passes won’t be necessary especially as you’ll have the extra hours.

Really can’t see a reason for express passes then. Not sure you need them at Universal anyway but not for a week moving into September

When is Labor Day next year? We’ve been a few times over that week and found that the weekend is busy but the rest has been fine.

We’ve always had express but I think it would be ok without apart from the Saturday to Monday.

Labor day is 2nd September. We are there Sunday 1st to Sunday 8th... That is what worries me, I was planning volcano bay for labor day, early entry then pool in the afternoon or maybe some shopping...

We found that by late afternoon Monday it really quietens down a lot.

Your plan sounds good, Tuesday onwards you should find quiet enough to not need express.

Even with Labour Day if you’re going for a week I wouldn’t bother with passes x

We did Columbus day last week. Was a lot busier than previous days but no where near Disney busy. I think kong was the longest wait at 25 mins.

Why don’t you stay one night in one of the 3 Universal hotels which give you a free express pass for everyone in the room valid for 2 days. We find the express pass great, especially around bank holidays.

We're at Universal for a whole week, I don't really want to move hotels for a 3rd time during the holiday if i'm honest.

I think I am just going to book Cabana Bay, does anyone know if there are usually deals on over black Friday?
