Are there buses from port to airport and vice versa?

Confused! If hiring a car from Alamo at Miami Airport, where would the port come in?

want to collect car from Miami airport but then on return will be taking a cruise so would ideally drop off at Port of Miami?

Some of the areas around Miami Airport are very dangerous and you do not want to go in there.

We collected and picked up our car at MIA for our cruise and used a taxi between the airport and cruise port, it was $25 each way and is a fixed price. Lots of taxi's available and no waiting at either end. There is no car hire at the port, you have to use a shuttle bus.

Interesting... I just want to get out of the airport and drive upwards lol Don't like the look of that map... most areas are 'red' that the I95 or Turnpike goes through...

How do you find the desirability of other parts of Florida?

Subscribing to this, as we are also flying into Miami in August. We are staying there for four nights before picking up a hire car from the airport and driving to Orlando.

May do that then, pick up and drop off at the airport. What do you mean about the shuttle bus and where does that take you as you mentioned getting taxis? Is a shuttle bus an alternative to taxis?

You can find maps like that for British cities too, I really wouldn't worry about it. And to be honest, I don't think the DIBB is the best place to be asking about the desirability of other parts of Florida, as most people on here haven't been out of Orlando, and a lot never even leave Disney/the parks.

Whereabouts are you thinking of going? We've driven a bit around Florida, but only in the bit from Orlando down to Miami. Have travelled quite a bit in some other states, and have only ever made a couple of mistakes, it's not like the movies, you'll be fine :-)

We only want to drive from Miami to Orlando and some posters said it was quite tricky getting out of Miami. The unsafe areas weren't really a concern and not what I was asking until another poster mentioned there were some quite bad areas round Miami to avoid with a link to a map to where they were... then I got a bit worried
