We went to our wedding venue today

First time doing anything nice actually, since we lost dad. We needed to pay some more off the wedding so after a tough day yesterday (emptying the touring caravan for its new owners) I thought we'd end the week on a mixed note.

Me, mum and John had some lunch there, the venue have said they will plant some forget me nots for Dad, which will flower in June next year for the wedding (fingers crossed it goes ahead)

The gardens are absolutely stunning, I got upset as the realisation that dad won't be with us on our special day really hit me.

Dad has been before, he was there the day we booked it. But it's not the same... I printed a photo of me trying my wedding dress on in the shop and put it in his coffin.

It looks beautiful. And how lovely of them to plant some forget me knots, what a fabulous idea (I've grown some this year for the rockery my Dad started in our garden 16 years ago, he's been gone 6.5 years now). Your Dad will be with you in your heart, and it's lovely to know he's been to the venue x x x
