Planning Advice.

We travel to Florida on 15/08/2024, flying out of Manchester with Virgin Atlantic at 11am. We arrive at Orlando Airport USA time 3pm, pick up the rental car and drive to the residence Inn Sea World. Can I please ask what members recommend we should do after arriving at the hotel? Thank you.

Unpack is what I would normally do on arrival. Then, head to Disney Springs for a mooch around and something to eat. And stay up as late as possible (or until around 11ish) to get into a routine straight away. But, everyone's different.

You could go to the Vineland Outlets do a bit of shopping and use the food court.

We have done this flight a few times and have never managed more than unpacking and dinner before bed. It's a long day and we can never sleep on the plane.

What I do on arrival day varies depending on what time I land. If I am quite late, I normally just explore and get something to eat wherever I am staying. If it is early evening, I might go to Disney Springs for a bit of a shop and something to eat. If I were landing at 3pm, I would dump my bags, turn around and head for a park for the evening.

Previous trips we've been too tired to do much more than orientate round resort have a meal, settle and go to bed. But this time we headed to park and got a few rides done which was great as we felt holiday got started straight away and because we then stayed up later our body clocks adjusted quicker and we didn't wake quite so early next morning (still in plenty of time for early rope drop - but not in early hours of morning).
Our kids are teenagers now so that also made a difference to what was possible.

See how you guys are feeling. Might be worth popping to target you are 9mins away from it to get waters/juices and some snacks to take to the park.

Disney Springs is around 15mins away from your hotel, a good option for dinner plenty of choice.

I'd keep an open mind and not book anything that commits you. We're usually pretty tired and a bit of a supermarket shop and dip in the pool is about our limit on arrival day.
