Definitely shop around, as my Avanti renewal was a lot more than last year with the same pre existing conditions. I got mine with Admiral in the end, about £200 cheaper

I have urticaria and angeodema- no hospital admissions ever but 1 a and e visit about 12 years ago when first diagnosed as they thought I was in anaphylaxis, type 2 diabetes controlled very well to the point they have decreased my meds and again no hospital admissions, UC generally controlled and no admissions and I am 42 and my insurance quotes cheapest was £165 for single trip! You'll probably find it's the IBD which is putting the price up. In fact, some insurers refused to cover it when I was looking. The insurers I've managed to get resonable prices with previously are Axa, InsuranceWith and Cover For You. The annual insurance always works out cheaper than a single trip for me.

I have no advice unfortunately - My travel insurance last year was under £200 - this year the exact same cover was £1200!

No changes except us all being a year older.

The cheapest quote I managed to find was £800 - I can’t believe how much it’s gone up

I was diagnosed with cancer in Feb this year (tonsil) and finished 30 sessions of radiotherapy and 2 chemo sessions at end of April.

I’m still waiting for my PET CT scan appointment to check if anything is still active.

Before this, we’d booked and paid for flights and part paid accommodation for end July.

Initially thought there was no chance I’d be up to going, but I’ve got much better over last month or so - so it’s all systems go.

Anyway, I found insurewith.com to be best value. Just a single trip cover for me (we have sep insurance for everyone else) - my cost is £91

Staysure insurance have 20% off at the moment for their 20th Birthday. Use code ANNI20.

We just insured with them - party of four, two with pre-existing conditions (1x medicated high blood pressure/cholesterol, 1x recent knee surgery) and came out at £220 with discount.
