Pre booked seats appear available

Has anyone come across this before? I’ve booked a virgin package for first time in ages and we’re flying Edinburgh to Atlanta and onto Orlando, both delta flights. I pre booked the seats a while ago but today was wondering how many seats are available to see what cost would be to upgrade. I did a dummy booking and two of the five seats I have booked from Edinburgh to Atlanta are available to book. I went into the app and they’re definitely showing booked with the seat numbers.
I’ve sent an email to the virgin contact but she’s on holiday so not sure where to go with this. I’ve only flown BA for last few years and normally just book the seats a week before so not had this problem with them. I don’t want to check in and find we don’t have seats together after booking so early.

I Did find if you look at seats on the app it will show differently on the website, for example when I upgraded my seats it was showing in the app the seats I booked but on the website still showing the seats available. It did take a few days to correct though.

I have found their whatsapp very helpful in the past, maybe contact them?

When we came home a couple of weeks ago, 2 people had the same seat numbers... both wanted to be by their family too however the women got top trumps as she needed to be sat next to one of her kids as they were only 5. The gentleman who wanted to be across the aisle from his family had to move was not happy. I beleive he had paid for the seat, not sure on the women.

This has just happened to me a day ago. I booked & reserved 2 return business class seats to MCO with Aer Lingus a few days after they became available. I did a dummy run and found 2 seats showing as still available and nothing for the outbound seats? Airline said there was a flight change but confirmed my inbound seats were showing up but not my outbound. Those seats gone & I had to book other less convenient seats. I have mobility issues so book quickly to get the seats I need. Still annoyed with airline as those seats make a huge difference to me!
I too had a receipt showing seats originally booked, so no idea as to why I was bumped off. Im registered with them as wheelchair user!

Trying not to fret as flight also part of our trip and BClass has only a small number of seats in their cabin.
Contact both airlines if you're not happy.
