Parking in Chester

Not been to Chester for years, looking to visit the Cathedral and Walls, where is a good place to park and has anyone got any other suggestions on where to visit?

There's a couple of car parks near the racecourse and some Park and Rides.
There's one on Sealand Road near the Greyhound retail park and the one I use is on the Wrexham Road when I pop in to Chester.
They drop off and pick up at the back of the Grosvenor precinct so an easy walk to the cathedral and walls.

There are several NCP car parks in the centre but they're prices. There's a large car park by the river and also one at the castle. Park and ride is probably the cheapest option,depending on where you're travelling from there's also one at the Zoo.

Park at Chester race course, 5 mins walk into town. About £5 all day x

You could always park at one of the park and rides. Few different locations and buses are frequent. If you need to do a bit of shopping you could always park at Tesco’s in the city centre. If you spend a certain amount in store you get your parking for free. It’s really close to the cathedral.

Guess it depends which day of the week you are going. If you visit on a sunday there are several on street options which are free (lower bridge street for example). To be honest any day of the week you can find free parking if your willing to walk a little , examples, just over the river in handbridge queens park road area. I have never so far had to pay for parking in Chester.
