Mobile Do we need a DAS pass?

Hi all,

I’m hoping someone can help...

We go to WDW in 4 weeks, my nephew has drop foot (follow on effect from meningitis as a baby) and usually uses a splint to allow him to walk. At the minute he has so many abrasions on his foot that he cannot wear his splint and therefore cannot walk. We are planning to take a stroller for him to use in the parks however should we get a DAS pass for him so he can use the wheelchair entrance at rides? Essentially if we can’t wheel him to the ride someone would have to carry him and he his nearly 7 years old so just not feasible. We don’t want to hire a wheelchair as he doesn’t need one and a stroller is fine.

I hope the above all makes sense, if anyone can help? TIA

das pass doesn't give you access to the wheel chair entrance it just gives you a way to bypass the queuing part of the standby wait time - You get a return time based on the current wait so you don't have to physically queue but when you return you have to use the fast pass lane like everyone else it doesn't get you straight to the front.

If you want to use the wheelchair entrance then I would guess he would have to be in a wheelchair. Hopefully another dibber will know for sure

Ah ok, so maybe just the wheelchair entrance will suffice. Does anyone know if you have to be in a wheelchair to use this entrance? It’ll be obvious that there is something wrong with his foot.

U can get a stroller as wc sticker. We did it for my asd son.
Das is no longer for mobility due to massive abuse (im not suggesting ur abusing at all.)
Sometimes u may need to use exit as enterance after other go through normal line. Hth x

Thank you all, that’s so helpful. We will go to guest services and get a stroller as wheelchair pass! My sister will be so relieved that there is something to help
