POFQ, noisy rooms?
Hi dibbers
Can anyone who has stayed at the French Quarter advise, if staying on the ground floor do you get noise from above? Can you hear footsteps walking around above you? At first I contemplated requesting a room on the third floor, but not sure I fancy the idea of lugging 4 heavy suitcases up the stairs and generally having to climb the stairs each time going back to the room Has anyone got any advice or recommendations? Thank you

Didn’t have a problem with noise when we were on the ground floor, or any other floor to be honest. The only room we had some noise in was one with an adjoining door but nothing to cause a problem.
My advise would be to use the lift for cases and when your feet are park weary 🙂 |

I did have a noise problem on the first floor but I am not sure a higher floor would have solved it. We had a screaming child next door who did not want to sleep and parents let him "cry it out." It was a short stay so I didn't talk to reception.
While the child was a pain, our room was onlysteps from the parking lot, wonderful after a day in the parks. |

We have always had ground floor rooms there. Never had a noise problem.
You do occasionally hear a toilet flush, but when you see the force that they flush with, its hardly surprising!

I'm quite a light sleeper and found our first floor room very noisy with the toilet flushing. The next time I requested and got a top floor corner room and didn't have any problems at all

We were in a ground floor room, I requested a room without an adjoining door which I find helps a lot with noise issues. The rooms were in were just refurbished last May, everything was very peaceful and as others have said the odd toilet flush but that's it. We are a family of five with three boys and no one complained 😁

No noise from above, but we did hear toilets flushing. Our ground floor room seemed to be on a main path to the carpark though as we were woken early every morning by people outside our room.

We’ve stayed at POFQ three times. Twice with a ground floor and once with a top floor. Never have we been disturbed by anybody in their rooms or walking past outside.
