Hmmm...

Not sure if I like this tbh. IoA's theming seems a bit more edgier than Disney - with rides like Hulk, Spiderman, DD etc. Marvel seems to fit into that more than Disney.

Guess we'll find out soon enough.

I might just to have to appreciate the marvel rides more in a month's time. They may not be there next time we go!

PS Just seen previous post...

I take it all back if they build a marvel theme park. That'd be too cool.

First reaction was that this could give Disney the "boy" character meal that people have been chuntering about for a while. Spiderman and the Hulk, plus X-men etc. should give them some scope for a character meal to get the lads excited. And DH has just chimed in with Spiderman Mickey, Hulk Donald and Wolverine Goofy ROFL - that I'd *have* to see!

My mind has been racing since I heard this... it gives Disney massive scope to add some new and exciting attractions but I think it will be a very gradual and subtle process. As for Universal I think they will be mightily peeved but as others have said they will be contracted to character licenses so the likes of Spiderman and Hulk will be safe for a while. I will be very very interested in what statements are issued over the next few weeks as to the tone between Universal and Disney.

Marvel are film producers in their own right too now so Disney may be happy to sit back and merely profit in that regard rather than take a whole new raft of characters into the Parks... I dont expect to see Blade strolling around DHS any time soon

I would seem that IOA would have to pay Disney to use the Hulk Spiderman name etc.. How weird... And does this mean we will have separate Marvel comic rides in Disney too... Its a wait and see but I do wonder... I hope things dont change too much as I love Disney for the family Mickey Minnie side of things and Universal for the Hulk etc...

Thanks for the news

WOW, That has come outta the blue.

Excellent news for Disney, but Universal will be pooping a little.

I cant see Disney being nice to Universal over this. Universal might be paint the Hulk rollercoaster a different colour very very soon.

However like some have said, i would imagine Universal have the rights to Marvel for sometime, so maybe they can plan ahead.

However this could turn nasty, and i doubt Universal will see the nice side of Disney.

Be interesting to read over the next coming months on what is going to happen!
