Where to stay in LA - Santa Monica or Burbank

Hi all, we are looking for the best place to stay in LA for 5 nights after we move from Anaheim, here are things we plan to do

- Universal
- Warner Brothers
- Shopping Fairfax/Melrose
- Santa Monica/Venice Beach
- Skateparks (mostly around Santa Monica area)
- Maybe trip to Malibu

Is it long to drive from Burbank/North Hollywood to Santa Monica or should we base in Santa Monica and drive the other way when needed?

How many days?

Looking at that you will need 2 days in the Hollywood area for Universal, Warner Bros and Hollywood.

Looks like you will then be spending more days on the coastal side.

It's an hour between Santa Monica and Hollywood, but can be more if there are accidents on the freeway.

Provided you are happy for an early start for Universal of you stay on the coastal side then pick whichever one you are going to spend more time.

Also compare the prices of accomodation when making the decision.
