Mobile IKEA tall pax wardrobes anyone?

Hi
Has anyone got the tallest IKEA ox wardrobes? The frame is 236cm tall
But it’s saying the doors is 240cm clearance needed
I just wanted to see if that’s right as it seems strange then being 4cm taller than the frame
That’s and my floor to celiling is 240cm

Thanks for any help

We have 2. The issue is you need to build them upright as you cannot swing them up when built as there is no room. So you need that extra few CM's to get the top on and assembled.. You also need to be accurate when fixing to the wall as any lean back will be amplified when the door is open and it could strike the ceiling.

All very possible but a bit fiddly.

As above!
We have a whole wall of them and it was like a mental agility challenge ensuring we didn’t snooker ourselves with both the height and width restrictions. We did have to pull the carpet back and cut it. I think we had about 2cm clearance above the door before we filled the gaps
I reckon sliding doors would be an impossibility but hinged were do-able

We have that size in the design your own section. We paid for ikea to put them up. Took them 4 hours. Would have hated to do it. As others have said there is next to no give in the specs

Yes we have them, just a bit awkward to build them upright but they look great once done and so much space.

Just to be aware we are still waiting for some of the fittings to come into stock (since October) as Ikea are having issues with some Pax and Komplement components.

Getting the sliding doors on can be a bit of a fiddle. I didn't have the clearance so opted for the shorter units. There are some videos online that helped me with building and fixing to the wall. They might give an idea of space/clearance you need.

One thing to note is if you have a skirting board you will need to batten out the wall to give you something to fix the units to. Good luck!

Thankfully we have all the bits bought between august and now as the baskets took forever to come into stock and the corner frame

We are going to remove the skirting boards

I can’t wait to have decent wardrobes

I also have them. I have them as a double wardrobe, double draws with TV on top and single wardrobe. There are a couple of brilliant You Tube videos that DH watched before assembling, was pretty straight forward after that, it was only him and DSiL that built them. Look lovely. I like that you can then buy extra draws, shelves etc as your needs change. I have the pull out laundry basket and absolutely love not having a basket showing in the room.
