If you go on to this page and put your school name in it will tell you how much your school was allocated, if it doesn't come up you can use google to search for your schools unique DFE number xxx/xxxx (if you're not sure message me with your schools name and I'll find the Dfe number for you)

Wow! Thanks for that, going in armed with information! Yes looks like they had £16500, and due again in February!

And we have been in receipt of the PE funding since approximately 2014 so that's a lot of money for an under resourced PE cupboard. The April funding will be the second half of the total, having received the first half around November. I am PE coordinator at my school and have a very well resourced PE cupboard thanks to this funding.

Evidently most of it gone on training for staff! Oh and swimming lessons. This funding is for primary though and DD is secondary (school goes from 4 yrs to Post 16). Even though it wont necessarily help DD directly it is a hell of a lot of money to spend on training when you don’t have matting for them to do a roly poly on!

That funding doesn’t go far.
There should be a complete breakdown on the schools website. If they have a swim teacher a % of their salary can come from that. If they sign up to any pe schemes that’ll also come out of it. I worked in a primary school and we used to keep aside a certain amount each year to cover new equipment. Mats are expensive and need to be checked every year to ensure they’re safe. We used to have a good number condemned each year by the company that came in to do our equipment inspection. If they did away with the lot due to covid it would cost a lot to replace. |

Another PE co-ordinator here. We get £19,600 and have to ensure every penny is accounted for. The local School Sports Officer checks our website every July (and through the year as well) to see what we have allocated money to, what has been spent and, since COVID, any carry-forward.
We aren't allowed to use it for swimming lessons as they are an NC requirement, but do fund an additional swimming teacher for 3 children with additional needs. We are very well resourced, all children in Y5/6 do bikeability (cycling proficiency), we have external coaches giving hockey lessons, purchased an amazing orienteering course for all our children to use and provide every child with free sports clubs after school. In our school, it seems to go a long way as we have had it for so long that lots of the 'big-ticket' equipment, such as our apparatus, has already been purchased and is still in great order. |
