Help me, autistic obsessions

I’m autistic and I have a massive obsession/special interest currently and it’s not good.

I’m obsessed with babies. That sounds creepy but I am.

I’m so broody. I’m only 26 so have plenty time.

But it’s unlikely I’m going to find someone to have a baby with, I can’t make friends let alone a girlfriend. I’m trying but it’s not going well, I’ve had two dates in 2 years (I know Covid but still). To be quite honest I’m happy to do it myself (I have great family support), but not yet.

Anyway, I’m obsessing, I haven’t dreamt about it but I day dream about it.

I’m watching one born every minute at the moment, and it hasn’t put me off, if I’m honest it’s made me want it more lol.

I cant stop looking at them in shops and stuff and they’re just so cute. I know they’re also very difficult and raising a child is a massive thing, so I am thinking about it, I’m not just going aww cute baby let me have one.

Please help me, anyone got any tips. I just can’t stop thinking about it.

Or maybe maybe someone to indulge my special interest and chat with me about it lol. Pretty please.

Either is fine. I have no outlet, my family don’t quite get it.

Just wanted to say it’s not creepy at all. Women have a biological urge to have babies. Bloodiness probably hits most women at some point, even those that don’t feel maternal.
Do you know anyone with a baby? Maybe some cuddles might tide you over until you are in a position to have your own

So sorry. That should read broodiness, not bloodiness!

Thanks. I’ve only got two friends and neither are planning to have babies yet, so unfortunately not. I know no one else with a baby either.

I’ve even thought of lots of names and my step mum wants my children to learn mandarin lol. That’s her one thing she’d like. Hmm we’ll see, she doesn’t speak it herself so is relying on teachers lol.

Names, I like Cora, Luisa, endeavour (for a middle name), Arthur, fabien.

And I want a Winnie the Pooh theme lol.

I’m obsessing lol. *send help*

I can send you my stroppy 16 year old - that would definitely help!😂

Just kidding - even with a stroppy 16 year old, I still occasionally get broody but my baby days are sadly over.

I think it is natural to feel like this - especially given your age. Such a shame that you don’t know anyone with a baby.

I’m 26 and I couldn’t be more the opposite. As much as I think babies look cute and I’d like to be pregnant and push a pram, I can’t see myself being a mum!

Whenever I’m around babies, it puts me off massively, just watching my friend with her son makes me exhausted. I just don’t think it’s for me and my fiancé isn’t fussed on them either!

I’d rather have a kitten!😂

I find it so strange sometimes that I have a discussion or read something and within days someone posts about it on here 🤯🤯🤯🤯
One of the mums at school was telling me at home time about her sister (I had asked how she was doing) her sister in not in a position to have any children but desperately wants a child, or thinks she wants one. At Christmas her mum bought her a real life baby doll, it was quite expensive and certainly not a toy doll. She has a few items for it, crib, clothes, nappies etc. apparently its amazing and her sister loves it, she can still go about her daily life at work etc but when she is home she is with the doll.
Its obviously not for everyone but it’s certainly helping her and not harming anyone 💗💗

Aw that’s sweet.

I would hate having doll, it’s so lovely it works for her though.

I hope in a few years I’ll be in the position too have a baby. I need to lose weight and get some therapy and I should be fine and dandy with a bit of help.
