New York Planning

Hi there, has anyone recently been to NY and used the COVID vaccine app, is it easy to upload your details and what proof do you need to upload?

Secondly has anyone used any of the NY site seeing passes, if so which ones would you recommend and why.
Currently can’t decide between the New York Pass or the New York Siteseeing pass.

Thanks for any help

I can’t help with any of these questions but my number 1 tip to everyone going to New York is try to get on The Ride! It’s brilliantly funny and unique to NY. Don’t read too much about it as you’ll spoil the experience, but honestly so different experiencetheride/

Are you taking any children? If so, just so you are aware, ages 5 and up needs to be vaccinated.

Haven’t been for three years, but wouldn’t recommend any pass, we just booked the things we wanted to do individually at the times we wanted to do them.

A lot of the things I like to do in NYC are free ( Central Park, Bryant Park, Highline,Brooklyn Bridge) and though I have been up all three towers, on the Tripadvisor NYC forum they tell you that you still have to make a separate appointment time, even if you have a pass.

You can only book Statue of Liberty with Statue Cruises anyway, so easy to do online.

Definetely take a look at the Tripadvisor forum. Have a great trip!

When I went to NY I considered the passes, but then I read an article that say make a list of you must dos and would like to do. Look at the price of going into them then compare the pass prices. All of them worked out much more expensive that paying at the time. My big tip is split your list into upper/lower and mid New York and visit attractions that are in the same area to avoid lots of travel time - also take advantage of the fact you will be awake early and visit busy attractions like Empire State and Top of the Rock as they open

And do not believe the tip I read on some forum (maybe TripAdvisor?) to go to the Empire State building after maybe 11pm (can’t remember the exact time!) to avoid the queues! It’s all lies! It was amazing being up there at night though having done The Rock during the day

I researched this and bought the 3 day explorer pass for our trip with a Black Friday discount and it came to approx £113 per person. My itinerary below I costed at around £177 per person to pay at venue, so I hope its a saving (we also want to do the ride but I need to work out where to put it!)

Day 1
bus tour
9/11 memorial museum with audio tour
ferry to liberty

Day 2
empire state
central park

Day 3
the edge
times square - Ripleys and Mde Tussauds

Going with my 16 year old daughter, who is double vaccinated, so at the moment she should be ok as long as they don’t ask for the booster
