Rapid Antigen Tests for Iceland entry

Hi guys,

Looking to go Iceland and they require a pre departure test, either PCR or Rapid Antigen.

Now what’s confusing me is Iceland say they don’t accept self tests but yet online some companies send you out the kit to do yourself and then either upload/ send off result and they give you a certificate.

So by self tests do they mean they don’t accept the NHS ones. Or do they generally mean we have to go to an appointment and not order ones to do at home.

Looking at Iceland's rules, I would go with an in clinic one to be safe as I'm not sure if a video supervised one (like can be used for the US) would be suitable either, since they do not mention it as an option.

Companies sell the self-test option because there are some countries that do permit this.

Don’t know if there’s been any change in rules but we went late October and did video appointment tests with breathe assured. I can’t remember whether we had to upload the certificate to their pre departure authorisation website but our certificates were inspected at stansted and Keflavik airport before we left the terminal with no problems.
