We went around mid day and put our two sons on the standby list. You can then turn up 30 or 40 mins prior to any show. If people do not turn up, it goes to the standbys and you are prioritised based on when you were added to the standby list.

We went back when our friends sons were booked on. To our surprise our boys managed to get on as standbys. Unfortunately whilst waiting to start their march, the heavens opened and that show was cancelled! We got a free past pass for our troubles. We hung about waiting for the rain to stop and put our boys name down again (along with our friends two boys) for the standby. 30 mins before the show started the rain died down, but I guess a lot of people were either held up or changed plans as we were able to get on the show.
