Question ssp ending

anyone know what happens when ssp runs out?
I've been off sick for a while and its not looking likely I'll be fit to return to the job I was doing before my entitlement to ssp ends I thought you were meant to get given a ssp1 form by the 23rd week but I haven't received anything? I've tried chasing it and they've said they'll look into it but said they are not exactly helpful I'm still waiting on some back ssp as they missed a couple of weeks payments and an appointment with OH

Generally you wouldn't receive an ssp1 form more than 5 weeks prior to SSP ending as DWP wouldn't accept it prior to that. However that doesn't mean to say that there hasn't been a delay getting it to you. I would chase it up again once you are over 23 weeks.
If they have missed paying you a couple of weeks then they may not be aware that you have reached 23 weeks yet.

You can apply for ESA, however if you are in a Universal Credit full service area you apply for "new style" ESA and also Universal Credit for help with rent and child elements. To claim " new style" ESA you apply via UC freephone number. You need to have paid enough NI contributions to qualify. Hope this helps.
