Universal only holiday

We have gone to Disney this year and said we would do Universal next time..Well as you can see it is Disney again next time lol

We don't want to do more than 1set of tickets per trip as there are 5 of us and so the cost is a lot.

So next time will be Universal when our son is 5 or 6.
We usually do a 3 week trip but would this be too much for universal alone. Looking at everyone's advice I think we would do a split stay part onsite and part off-site.

Any tips from those who just do Universal... I know I am planning early but usually I leave everything until last minute lol

Thankyou

We’re doing a Universal only trip next year but only for 11 days (usually do 16-19 days) but it’s all we can fit in. We loved Universal this year, didn’t spend enough time there and was much more relaxed than Disney (in our opinion anyway) So were really looking forward to spending more time there. We’re doing 10 nights at Cabana Bay, have previously stayed at Hard Rock & Royal Pacific, but 10 nights in one of those is a lot of money lol. If I was doing 2/3 weeks though I would spend a week onsite and 2 weeks off to explore other parts of Florida, especially the beaches!

I did universal and wet n wild 2 years ago.We also had HHN.I must admit if it wasn't for the HHN we would have got bored quick as Universal parks are really a 1-2 day park. This time we are doing The 6 park orlando flexi ticket plus HHN.We haven't done sea world for years and Busch and aquatica were a washout last time we went.We made a similar decision that it was either Disney or universal as ticket prices are getting so high.

I stayed on site at Universal last year and loved it the hotels are really nice! I certainly wouldn't have an issue doing a Universal only holiday but maybe not 3 weeks. If I was going for 3 weeks I'd probably get tickets for Seaworld etc too.

We are doing our second universal only holiday but we only do it for a week and stay on site - why not try a few days down at the beach and stuff like a trio to KSC

We did 16 nights in the summmer. We had SeaWorld tickets and a trip to discovery cove. which we used a few times in the first 9 nights and then had a week onsite at universal which was great. We still didn’t do everything we wanted. We didn’t do volcano bay.
As well as that we ended up adding on the Disney after hours event one night with a stay at AOA in the first week and an Orlando city game the second week.
In April we are going for 9 nights with only universal tickets. A few days offsite and a week onsite. We plan to pool hop, play mini golf, go to the cinema as well as park time and a bit of shopping.
Our ds loves the pool and would happily spend more time there as would most kids I’ve come accross.

This is something I have thought about I could get Seaworld and Universal for less than Disney. If I go for Universal only I would be having a much more relaxed holiday...The Disney Holidays are very intensive and wanting something more relaxed next time and my girls are desperate for HP stuff

Ours love the pool and we end up having to fit that in as well as the parks ...the cost of Disney tickets means I want to get as much as possible out of the experience as the Universal ones are much cheaper (and I am considering the annual upgrade (not that I'm telling DH) I am thinking it won't be as intense and will feel lot more like a holiday

We upgraded to the annual 2 park pass that’s why no volcano bay. If you do maybe one prefered pass would be good as you get 20% off lots of food and merchandise. We made our upgrade cost back easily.
My ds enjoyed the more chilled pace, we also did club level at Rpr so we spent a fair bit of time in there.
We didn’t drive we just used uber and the itrolley.
