St Petes Beach or Clearwater

Hi

We are planning on travelling from Orlando over to Tampa way.
Where would everyone recommend to stay St Petes Beach or Clearwater. Also which hotels?

Thanks

Neither.

I’d recommend Indian Shores or Anna Maria Island.

Neither. Head a wee bit further south to Anna Marie Island. Well worth the extra drive.

Like the others, I would go just a few miles further to Anna Maria Island.. Or Fort Desoto

Marco Island is my favourite of that coast - beautiful sand, turtles coming to lay eggs or hatch on the beach, laid back but classy feel about the restaurants and shops. If I had to return to Florida it would have to include some time spent here

I agree Marco and Naples are excellent. We went to TigerTail beach when last in Marco where you wade across the inlet, and when we reached the tree line on the other side before getting to the deserted beach, there was a very strange noise. I looked down and there were thousands of tiny crabs all scuttling along - quite a sight.
