Just checked POR for May and it’s lots more than this May was. Excluding royal room and upgraded DDP which I think I paid 600 for, 2019 is 4895 for 2 ad, 2 ch for 2 weeks. Adding on the DDP will take it to 5200 probably which is 600 more without the royal room

Maybe I'm being naive, but after last year's price hikes, I was hoping that 2019 would be around a 10% annual increase, but my dates are 20% higher than this year
POFQ is more than twice what we paid for our first trip in 2012

One of the reasons we’re taking a break this year is an anticipated price hike for 2019. The most disappointing thing for me in recent years is the reduction in the OKW/SSR discount as we love OKW. The difference now between it and CBR is becoming significant enough to give us pause when considering which resort to book. And it looks like our plan for WL is out the window . Just can’t justify that price difference from mods.

CBR is smaller now as they've knocked so much of it down to build the new Riviera resort. That's due to open in autumn 2019, so the majority of the big building work would be done by May I would think, giving them time to work on the interior. It's across the lake too, so can't see it having a huge impact.

The CBR building work around the shop, restaurants etc will all be finished by then, so it's just whatever they're doing for the skyway gondola system.

That big discount, combined with the free dining made OKW the best bang for your buck at WDW. Especially for a larger family. Plus it's such a beautiful resort.

Problem is that with the decrease in the value of the discount, plus all of the annual rises, it's not the great offer it once was

Not that I'm going in 2019 (she says!) but in terms of preferred rooms at CBR...where will they be located and would it be worth choosing one over a standard? We've only stayed in standard rooms there and in Jamaica which was a perfect location for us

They used to be located in Trinidad North and Martinique, if I recall but we’ve never bothered with requesting one. We used to do an area request on check in and I put a fax request in as well for either Aruba or Jamaica and they are usually honoured.

CBR is a beautiful resort and to be honest, we always love the walk on a morning over the bridge to OPR. Providing it’s affordable for us this time, this is where we’re going in 2019.

Thank you! We love CBR too, it's so peaceful and beautiful, we stayed in Jamaica last time and it was lovely. A friend is looking for 2019 and she booked a preferred room for 2017 but ended up moving to POR in a preferred room so wanted a preferred room at CBR in 2019 but I wasn't sure if it was worth it or where they were going to be located.
