How much to hire out Magic Kingdom?!

One of my facebook friends is an events organiser and travels the world doing it.

She posted photos yesterday and the company had bought out Magic Kingdom from 7 - 11pm on Tuesday night, free food and drink, characters everywhere, fireworks etc

Her photos were amazing, empty main street, different characters to usual etc.

Just musing how much do you think the company would have had to pay for this?

Certainly a decent amount but probably not as much as you expect.

I went to a conference that did this and they had 12000 attendees who paid about 1500 dollars each for the conference ticket.

That's about 19m USD. But that included 3 days food/drink and the cost of staging the whole event (the company who the conference was for had 800 staff in attendance and all their travel and accommodation had to come out of that too as well as the venue rental)

I'd imagine it's about 2M USD

Yes I think theres about 10000 attendees, theyre staying at swan / dolphin for the actual conference. I suppose in corporate terms 2M isn't that much ...!

I have attended a couple of these now. Amazing evenings and I know Disney's net cost for the evening was 1.5M so I would expect them to charge a fair bit on top of that to the event organiser.

The company that rented it out Has hampered our stay at the yachtclub somewhat. Parking was a nightmare for the first few days as they have built a pavilion in the convention parking area and we can’t just walk from the car park to the hotel, we have to be directed by human traffic lights because there are golf buggies zooming around everywhere.

However we look at it it’s going to be much more money than the average family could even dream about spending for a short space of time.
