Hel p with absolutely everything please!

We are doing our first visit to DLP this August.

A bit of a last minute decision, we had been umming and aaahing over Eurocamps and Efterling but an ad popped up for DLP and we booked it!

Now we have a million questions.

First up, half board dining plan. Do the credits add up like with DDP at WDW? For example we will arrive Sunday to late for breakfast so will this give us a credit to use another day?

If we choose not to eat a meal at disney on Sunday for lunch and dinner will this roll over and allow us a credit in the week for another meal?

Are there any recommendations for restaurants allowed on the half board dining plan? Or even any times anyone recommends?

Does anyone have a 5 night/6 day plan I could cast my eye over or a holiday diary I could read. Or even recommendations of someone elses?

We are staying at Davy Crocket, does anyone have any tips for this accommodation? Is there parking at the cabin itself?

I'm sure I have a million more questions as I'm very green on this park and haven't had a chance to read up on everything.

Any other tips are gratefully received 😁

Dining plan-wise you won’t get a breakfast credit on your arrival day, you’ll get a breakfast each morning from day 2 and lunch/dinner on days 1-5. You can use your dinner/lunch credits as you wish but breakfast can only be taken on the day and for breakfast only, and generally in your hotel. You can use your lunch/dinner credit in any Disney operated restaurant across the parks, village and hotels (except dinner at Disneyland Hotel restaurants). You can use your credits as part-payment towards character meals.

For best value don’t use your credits in counter service locations and aim for the premium buffets and table service restaurants.

No, you won't get breakfast Sunday, you will get evening meal. Similarly when you check out you may be entitled to the breakfast but not the evening meal. Always speak to a cast member they will be able to support you on this.

I'm not sure of this, IMO if you have credits for that day, use them and plan your meals ahead.

Download the disney app for times and definitely book in advance. I wouls recommend any of the hotel restaurant buffets, there is a good selection and something for everyone. PYM kitchen and Stark Factory in Avengers Campus are good. There is something really lovely about Walt's even if the menu isn't amazing.

Does anyone have a 5 night/6 day plan I could cast my eye over or a holiday diary I could read. Or even recommendations of someone elses?
I would say a full day in Disneyland Park and a full day in the Studios. Make sure you see all the shows, they are amazing! 5nights/6days is a lot of time for DLP so take your time because you will have change to do everything! Don't rush doing too much in the first few days because you may tire yourself out!

Never stayed here, but there is parking.

I'm sure I have a million more questions as I'm very green on this park and haven't had a chance to read up on everything.

As far as I know, it works the same way as WDW, so your credits are per night, rather than per day. From what I remember of both the WDW dining plan, and the DLP one, you’d get main meal credits for your first day (not breakfast), then breakfast and main meal for the middle days, and finally breakfast on your last day, but no main meal. BUT you should be able to use the main meal credits whenever you want. So for a 5 night stay on half board, you’ll get 5 breakfast credits and 5 main meal credits. We’ve always just had the breakfasts as planned or they’d be wasted, but the main meals could be used as and when. For example, we’ll often have a main meal on our first and last days, and skip one in the middle. We only have one main meal a day, but if we wanted, we could use two credits on one day and none on another.

As above, we tend to have breakfast, a main meal and snacks each day. It suits us well to reserve restaurants mid afternoon and have a snack later, but everyone is different. We love all the buffets, especially Agrabah, although Plaza Gardens etc is better for fussy eaters.

As another poster said, 6 days will give you plenty of time to do everything, and to go back to your favourites again. We usually do 4 nights / 5 days, and this would be a typical plan:
Day 1 - Disneyland Park, wander around, jump on anything that has a short queue, and make a wish list for the rest of the trip. Possibly pop over to Studios later on.
Day 2 - Studios, same as above. Possibly pop back to Disneyland Park for fireworks later on.
Day 3 - Back to Disneyland Park and start working through your wishlist, keeping an eye on the app for shorter queues and fitting in shows where you can. Fireworks if you haven’t done them yet.
Day 4 - Studios - same as day 3.
Day 5/6 - Do anything you’ve missed, and go back to do your favourites again. We always like to stay for the fireworks on our last night and make the most of every minute, but that will obviously depend on when you have to leave.

I politely disagree, we love taking out time, catching the shows/parades and making sure we ticked off all the rides (without running around like headless chickens!). I think may you're missing things to do!

It depends what you want. Fans of marvel / Star Wars may be completely disinterested in Pixar and fantasyland, although may want to do a couple of the other thrill rides. One day may be plenty!
