We never did gifts, but always did a card that the kids wrote themselves.

One year DD- aged 7 put in a Freddo frog that she had bought with her own pocket money. Brought a tear to my eye, so goodness knows about the teacher...

Im in Scotland so the kids finished up on the 28th. For summer and Xmas we do a class collection normally £5 each. Means they don't get loads of mugs or pencils. We have bought meal vouchers and Amazon vouchers in the past. Some other classes have bought Pandora jewellery too x

I personally don’t like the idea of a child giving alcohol to teachers. It’s so bad for you and a cancer risk (can’t see anyone putting a packet of cigs in a gift bag), bit that’s a whole other thread.
I think something personal, hand made card, picture etc
Last year I got my son’s teacher & TA a gift aid card with a donation in their name for educational supplies etc in a deprived country. Loads to choose from. Both the teacher & TA cried.
My daughter once did a poem when she was about 8 about her teacher and how amazing she was, that also resulted in tears.

We have got together as a class, each put £10 in and we split it across the teacher and the ta. Easiest way and then don’t have to think what to buy!
