Best away day recommendations ?

Hi guys
Looking to hit a beach somewhere... prefer over towards John's pass area... been there a few times but would like to try somewhere else, not Clearwater or st Pete's as done them before ... any advice folks ?

Beach only or would you be looking at a bit of shopping. restaurant ? Anna Maria Island or those areas would have good mix are you thinking of a day trip or overnighting ?

Hi just a day trip not bothered about shopping to be honest. Just a nice beach with somewhere we could eat before coming home at night.

Everyone has a different opinion but we love Holmes/Bradenton beaches, pretty quiet and there are nice restaurants close by
