First Night
I was wondering if I could get some advice. We'll be landing at MCO at around 3pm on our first day and then transferring by Magical Express to the Beach Club.
My wife and I are currently having a robust discussion (her words) or a disagreement (my words) about our first meal. She'd like to book a table service meal at Cape May for the first night whilst I think that it may be better to just grab a quick service meal somewhere as we don't know what time we will get there or how tired we will feel (especially our kids). I was wondering what everyone else does on their first day for food? |

I agree with you, I would get a QS meal. For one you can’t guarantee that you will be able to make an ADR in case your flight is delayed etc. Also we are just far too tired to do a sit down meal. We normally go for a swim and get a quick bite before going to bed.

We landed a similar time last year at MCO and transferred to AKL. I ended up cancelling the ADR id booked that night and we grabbed a QS at AKL. My husband was right after all. We could not have eaten a full meal.

We always want to have a plan and do something on the first night but, to be fair, we are always exhausted and decide to grab a quick bite to eat then go to bed so we’re good to go the next morning. Last time we were there, we went to Downtown Disney, did a bit of window shopping and ate at The Polite Pig. I’d love to do a table restaurant meal but feel it would be wasted as it feels like we’ve been up for days by that point.

Deffo go for a QS meal. By the time you get to the resort, showered etc it's going to be very late (approx 6pm local time will be 11pm UK time) so your kids will most certainly be very tired and not want nor enjoy a full sit down meal.

Thank you all for the replies. I think I will try again and convince for the QS meal. Now just to find one around the Beach Club area (but not in the parks) for us to go to. Any thoughts anyone?

Muppetnation, we are in exactly the same position!
We may go the Marketplace for some nosh but didn't want to waste a Table Service when we're all exhausted. Room service is too many DDP points and doesn't get great write ups. Lurking...

There’s a pizza window on boardwalk.. we usually have a QS pizza takeaway from the food court on the first night. On our first trip 4 years ago we made the mistake of going to TRex for tea. We were falling asleep in our food and I felt like we’d wasted a credit as we didn’t really enjoy it. So now pizza all the way for us! You could also get ice cream to follow from the window at beaches and cream in your hotel (if it’s open not sure what’s going on with refurb?)

We had booked a table service last year on first night and ended up cancelling it while we were waiting to be seated, we were all shattered! it would have been a wasted meal credit. Just got a QS instead
