Universal express passes

Hi, we are staying at the new Universal hotel for 1 week in November. Although this comes with the early entry to HP, it doesnt have the benefit of the express passes.

my query is, is it worth buying an express pass (me & OH) for 1 day, and then blitzing all of the rides?

We went the first 2 weeks in November 2018, but are going slightly later this year. We didn't have too much of a problem with queues, but we did have to wait quite a bit on the HP rides, and Hulk (even though my OH goes on that as a single rider!).

Also, we are planning on upgrading our tickets to AP whilst we are over there too. Does that entitle us to any sort of discounts on the express passes?
