P&O Excursion Bruges
Does anyone know approximately how much it costs to book an excursion into Bruges from Zeebrugge with P&O?
We can book excursions soon, but just wanted to know a rough cost from anyone who has been. TIA |

We got the train ourselves - loads of people from the cruise did. The shuttle bus took us to the station from where we caught the train for a few Euros. There was plenty of time to get there, lookround and get back. Sorry, I can’t remember the official excursion prices

Bruges is very easy to do on your own. We joined three other couples from the Cruisecritic roll call and shared a taxi van - dropped us off in the main square unlike the big tour buses which dropped off further out. Prompt pick up and paid back at the port. Can’t remember how much but significantly less than a ship transfer.

We may make our own arrangements, but just wondered how much it is with P&O.

It's £40 each with P&O.
Take the free shuttle to the railway station, it's then €5 each into Bruges and you get to choose when you come back. Easy and a nice walk from the train station into centre of Bruges. |

I’m on Ventura next month to Bruges and it’s from £35. Screen shot of options attached.
We will be using the train from blakenberg as easy to do. Gillian.

Thanks for the replies. How do the shuttle buses work, where do you get them? And the train? Never been before so any help will be appreciated. Bruges is one place I really want to go, so don't want to mess up getting there.

Coaches are outside ship, you can’t leave zeebrugee port on foot as very industrial so coach / shuttle or taxi only way. The coaches take you 10 mins away to Blakenburg a seaside town and drop you by the station.
Easy to buy tickets to Bruges and this station is the last stop on line so easy to get right train. Lots of other people will be doing the same and local people and staff are used to people doing this and speak English. Once you get off train follow the the crowds towards the centre of Bruges which is about a 20 minute walk through the old streets. Blakenburg is also worth a look if you have time, wide promenade and sandy beach. Shops for souvenirs like chocolate! Any other questions just ask! When do you sail? Gillian.

Thanks Gillian. We sail in April on Ventura.
I’m a bit of a worrier, so was going to just book the ship’s excursion, but it sounds a lot less expensive to make our own way? There are 5 of us and our eldest son is autistic so we try to make things run smoothly and let him know in advance what we are doing. Getting lost or left behind is something that is stressing me out. |

The train actually gives you more flexibility as your aren't tied to get back to the coach but can get the train when you want to. Think the excursion coaches park near / at the station anyway.
If you look on cruise critic at the Port guide think it will give taxi prices, for 5 of you this may be OK, certainly cheaper than excursion and may be doable for return journey? cruisecritic/ports/newport.cfm?ID=78 Gillian
