As in the above post. We were there at Easter (a busy time) and were there at rope drop. All major rides were done within 3 hours. We had agonised on passes, but took a chance, due to cost.. and won!

Both times we went it was a Friday in October during fright fest, park was open 10.30am-1am. We had the Gold Flashpass on both trips, while the park wasn't massively busy was still worth us getting the Flashpass as saved us the queues on the biggest rides, some of the older rides the pass wasn't needed but the newer more popular coasters had 45 min+ queues and meant we missed all of those queues. We did all the major rides multiple times. We will get the flashpass again when we visit in Oct.

Check out one of the busy day guides online to see "is it packed" on the day you are visiting. We went on a Tuesday last September and it was listed as ghost town - it wasn't wrong, most rides were walk on, worst was 5 mins.

If you go during an event, like Fright Fest, it'll be busy, but other times it's usually quiet.
But be warned, it is a huge park!

During the summer (July / August) especially in US school holidays you will be pushed to get it all done in a day. But don't really feel it warrants another day or a fast pass, just prioritise the rides you must do.

Definitely six flags magic mountain North LA, we stayed at the La Quinta inn and suites in Santa Clarita the night before and would highly recommend it for location, price and facilities. There are plenty of food places around there as well.
