Thank you! I am jealous of your small countdown - it would usually be the same as ours about now. I think that lull after Christmas might be more bearable now lol! Xxx

Saving Mr Banks is one of my favourite movies too, but currently I'm totally drawn into the Greatest Showman...anyway! How exciting for you, plus a bit daunting I imagine, given you only get 2 days holiday. I'm sure it will all work out well for you.

Your holiday plans look fab, I hope you have fun planning your trip. I cant wait to read the trip report.

I also love The Greatest Showman! Already had the soundtrack but the blu ray came today as I ordered it on the Amazon Prime deals yesterday.

Your countdown is so small noe and I am so jealous! I am really looking forward to your report too 😊.

It will be odd leaving somewhere I have been for so long but a new challenge and the change in lifestyle should be good. 2 days off is a bit of a pain but the thought of Florida will keep me going I am sure.

Have an amazing holiday ❤❤ xxx

Thanks for the best wishes. I'm so excited now. Your countdown will be gone in a flash too.

Happy ADR day to meeeeeeeee! (Also my birthday, but priorities right?!)

I got both ADRs that I wanted booked this morning - 9am Breakfast at BOG for 31st Jan and 6pm dinner for Restaurant Marrakesh on 1st Feb. Have to wait a coupld of days to book Raglan Road for the 5th Feb as it is out lf my 10 day onsite booking window.

In other news, I start my job on Monday with some training down South, so starting my journey with a trip to Bicester Village tomorrow before staying with my Grandmother. I went to Cheshire Oaks this week and emptied Cath Kidston out of the remaining Disney stock they had - my Mum got me one of the leather cross body bags and matching wallet for my birthday. Rain is forecast for tomorrow so it will stay safely in the dust bag for now. I am all packed though...

I also got a new phone and contract with a massive 30GB of data...which can be used in the USA! Seemed a no brainer for less than I am paying a month now.

That is all I have to update you on...see you real soon!

**UPDATE - 18/9/18**

Soooooooooo we caved. We did it. We upgraded to the Dining Plan! We are very excited about this, and spent a few days tweaking plans etc. We have decided not to book every single meal to give us some freedom when we are there. I’ll list our updated plans below.

I have settled really well into my new job and routine – in fact it feels like I have been doing it forever! So happy days there. Fudge is also enjoying having company during the day – even if he has decided he now likes to go out at least hourly! Here he is with a pressie from the lovely BigShaz and family...

As ever I am trying to shift those kilos #fitforflorida – I still have that same 5kg to go! I have been exercising more recently though, having rediscovered the Nintendo Wii whilst we were sorting out one of the spare rooms. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed Zumba!
Unfortunately, I also really like food and therein lies the problem. I am convincing myself that to eat all of the food on the dining plan I need to make space for it before then! I might try doing the Friday updates on here too, to give me a bit more motivation.

The house is moving along well after a hiatus in the heat – we have painted the two smallest bedrooms, and had a new carpet put down in the one we use as an office. The installation of new upstairs radiators is also imminent (the boiler and all of the downstairs ones were done last year) – so we will be toasty when the chilly weather comes again. We have also got round to adding a few Disney accessories about the place too- Dave reckons I must have been hoarding them for years!

Back to the holiday - we are still undecided about hiring a car – now we have the dining all booked and sorted I will look into that next. We are also thinking about declining Mousekeeping on the advice of our good DIBB friends BigShaz and family. We found the Mousekeepers were always in our room when we wanted to be in there last year, and I don’t mind swapping bed linen and towels myself for what is likely to be $130 in gift vouchers. We may also go on a DVC tour – not that we can afford the investment now, but it will at least rule it in/out for the future.

We have also become serial vlog watchers now the evenings are drawing in…and have decided to be brave and book some FP+ for rides we might not usually attempt. We blame Tim Tracker and L & R Dreaming entirely for this, and upgrading to the dining plan! Watch this space to see if we actually make it on them…

Here are our updated plans:

Wednesday 23rd January – Last day at work, Fudge being picked up too. Stay at Premier Inn Runger Lane North, Manchester Airport.
Thursday 24th January - VS075 MAN – MCO @ 11.35, land at MCO at 15.55, DME to POFQ. If we are still awake (we usually find a shower refreshes us and keeps us awake a bit longer), we will head to Disney Springs to collect our $200 gift card.

Friday 25th January – Epcot (AM) – FP+ for Test Track, Mission: SPACE and Spaceship Earth. Evening ADR for Boatwrights at POR – maybe not a popular choice for an ADR but I know we will be tired and actually, we love the look of the menu!

Saturday 26th January – Hollywood Studios (PM) – FP+ for Slinky Dog Dash, Star Tours – The Adventure Continues and The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. Stay to watch Fantasmic. Breakfast ADR at ‘Ohana at the Polynesian Resort.

Sunday 27th January – Animal Kingdom (AM) – FP+ for Kilimanjaro Safaris, Flights of Passage and Dinosaur. Evening ADR at Teppan Edo at Epcot.

Monday 28th January – Magic Kingdom (PM) - FP+ for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Pirates of the Caribbean and Big Thunder Mountain. Stay to watch Happily Ever After.

Tuesday 29th January – Kennedy Space Center

Wednesday 30th January – Shopping/Celebration. Evening ADR at Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ at Disney Springs.

Thursday 31st January – Magic Kingdom (AM) - Be Our Guest for Breakfast. FP+ for Peter Pan’s Flight, Haunted Mansion and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. Evening ADR for California Grill at the Contemporary Resort.

Friday 1st February –Epcot (PM) – FP+ for Spaceship Earth, Journey into Imagination with Figment and Frozen Ever After. Evening ADR for Chefs de France for dinner and stay to watch Illuminations.

Saturday 2nd February – Hollywood Studios (AM) – FP+ for Alien Swirling Saucers, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster and Star Tours – The Adventure Continues. Evening ADR at Sanaa at Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Sunday 3rd February -Animal Kingdom (PM) –FP+ for Na’vi River Journey, Expedition Everest and Kilimanjaro Safaris. Stay to watch Rivers of Light.

Monday 4th February – Hollywood Studios (AM) – FP+ for Toy Story Mania!, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. Evening ADR at The Garden Grill in Epcot.

Tuesday 5th February –Magic Kingdom (AM) – FP+ for Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. Evening ADR for Raglan Road for dinner.

Wednesday 6th February –Epcot (PM) – Soarin’ Around the World, Living with the Land and The Seas with Nemo & Friends. Evening ADR at Restaurant Marrakesh – I may suggest we stay to watch Illuminations for the final time…ever!

Thursday 7th February – VS076 MCO – MAN @ 19.15 – We will go and do the Virgin bag drop at Disney Springs before catching the Tragical Express back to MCO. We will land at 8.05 at Manchester the next day.

If I can squeeze in a BOG lunch and an ‘Ohana dinner I will – just got to keep trying for those I think.

I think that is all for now – hurry up FP+ day!

See ya real soon!

UPDATE- 15th DECEMBER 2019

So here we are at sub 60 days – and FP+ was sorted in a record 17 minutes flat! The only difficulty I noticed in getting one was the choice of times for Slinky Dog Dash for the start of our holiday. Other than that it was all fine! I am sure I will tweak them a little bit before we go, but I can’t foresee any major changes.

We are busy getting ready for Christmas – we had only just moved into this house when we put the decorations up last year, so felt it was a bit of a half hearted effort. Especially when the lights on our street are like those from Deck the Halls! So we invested in these, in addition to the standard lights across the front of the house and a snowflake projector.

Our Christmas Shopping is all done and wrapped, now comes the process of delivering it all! In other news, I am really enjoying my new job – it keeps me busy and challenged and I am incredibly happy.

Today is also a very special day for us - it has been 6 years since we adopted Fudge! Happy 6th Gotcha Day Fudge Dog

Here are our updated plans:
Wednesday 23rd January – Both Dave and I have booked this day off now! Fudge is being picked up in the morning for his Barking Mad Holiday, then we will head to the Premier Inn Runger Lane North, Manchester Airport.

Thursday 24th January - VS075 MAN – MCO @ 11.35, land at MCO at 15.55, DME to POFQ. If we are still awake (we usually find a shower refreshes us and keeps us awake a bit longer), we will head to Disney Springs to collect our $200 gift card.

Sunday 27th January – Animal Kingdom (AM) – FP+ for Kilimanjaro Safaris, Flights of Passage and Dinosaur. Evening ADR at Teppan Edo at Epcot.

Monday 28th January – Magic Kingdom (PM) - ADR for lunch at Be Our Guest. FP+ for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Haunted Mansion and Big Thunder Mountain. Stay to watch Happily Ever After.

Tuesday 29th January – Kennedy Space Center

Wednesday 30th January – Shopping/Celebration. Evening ADR at Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ at Disney Springs.

Thursday 31st January – Magic Kingdom (AM) – ADR for Be Our Guest for Breakfast. FP+ for Pirates of the Caribbean, Big Thunder Mountain and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.

Saturday 2nd February – Hollywood Studios (AM) – FP+ for Slinky Dog Dash, Frozen Sing along and Star Tours – The Adventure Continues. Evening ADR at Sanaa at Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Sunday 3rd February -Animal Kingdom (PM) –FP+ for Na’vi River Journey, Expedition Everest and Rivers of Light.

Monday 4th February – Hollywood Studios (AM) – FP+ for Toy Story Mania!, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and Star Tours – The Adventure Continues. Evening ADR at The Garden Grill in Epcot.

Tuesday 5th February –Magic Kingdom (AM) – FP+ for Peter Pan’s Flight, Big Thunder Mountain and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.

I have tried to be strategic about FP+ this time – we love rides like Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, but always seem to be able to pick up a FP+ for this whilst we are there. Here’s hoping it all pays off. I don’t want to jinx anything, but this was the first time I have ever made FP+ plans and not had the My Disney Experience crash or kick me out. Maybe it means it will be really quiet when we are there…? We can only hope.

We don’t have much else to do – we have got our Currency Card, but just need to get some cash dollars too. Parking at the airport is also sorted – the multi-storey car park appeared when I was checking one night, and with a discount code I paid about £90 for 2 weeks parking and 2 Fast Track Security tickets.

We still haven’t decided between a day trip to Kennedy Space Center or car hire – we’ll keep thinking about it. There is no real rush to sort this though, and it might be a job for over Christmas.

Shifting the pounds is not going so well for me with the festive season now here…but we’ll breeze right past that!

We have also had some incredible news – we are going to be an Aunty & Uncle in April next year! My sister (you will have met her and her now husband in my Ohana Trip report from February 2017) are expecting a baby girl. Excited is an understatement – think about all the shopping we can do for our niece whilst we are on holiday! I bought these Disney crafty bits from Aldi to make for the baby…

Helen, Matt & Mrs Moo the cat are coming for Christmas and I can’t wait to see her. I’ve bought a Disney Trivia Quiz from M&S for our Christmas Dinner entertainment, to go alongside the Disney Name That Tune Game- complete with kazoos!

I think that is all for now -see ya real soon and have a very Merry, Magical Christmas!

Sounds like a great trip you have planned!

We fly out on 27th so will overlap with you and we didn't struggle to get FP either - although it did crash a few times
