I think you're right. Dave loves to make a joke out of how much I plan for the holiday. He thinks it's hilarious. I think he does appreciate it when we don't spend hours waiting in lines and it all runs smoothly.

Yay, you've started! And yes, my hand is up, I remember the chair in the bathroom. Do I get brownie points?

Love your packing stories, Kate is super organised with her outfit planning. I wonder who she gets that from? Had to laugh at Dave having 35 pairs of socks but running out on hols because he failed to match them up with his footwear

What a shame you forgot your kindle, I hate that feeling when I realise I've forgotten something. I hope you didn't miss it too much. How sweet of Kate to offer you her one.

What a long wait for your food at PI. At least it gave you time to chat about your upcoming hols. Check Dave asking about the plans too.

Great start. Do packing cubes really work? My youngest DD had her wardrobe planned out months in advance last time and had notes on her phone. The eldest just rolled out of bed in the morning and grabbed whatever came tobhand!

Looking forward to reading more.

Oh yes brownie points and gold stars for you.

I think Kate takes after her father

Those socks were hilarious, he was a bit cross with me while we were away as it was obviously my fault he'd run out as I'd not let him take them all.

At least it was only the kindle that was forgotten, actually as I've typed that I realised it wasn't the only thing...Kate forgot a skirt that she was planning on wearing to Cali Grill brunch and so she had to re wear a pair of shorts I don't think anyone noticed though.

The evening before travel day is one of my favourite days in the year, probably next only to Christmas Eve, as I love the excitement and the build up to what is to come. It's why I love being at the airport hotel as I'll have checked that we've got the passports dozens of times and know we've got the important stuff so I can sort of relax a bit!

I like to leave packing to the day before we go so that I've been able to wash and dry everything, that way I can see it all laid out, rather than packing a few bits at a time and not being sure if I've got enough! It's my aim to not bring home stuff that hasn't been worn, spoiler alert, I managed it this time!

I'm glad you're enjoying it, my photos won't be anywhere near as good as yours

Thanks, I'm looking forward to getting into the holiday proper, but you'll have to bear with me!

Do packing cubes work? you're asking the wrong person! I love them

I like the sound of your DD, I love the planning of it all and thinking about what to wear. It's part of the fun. When she was planning what to take Kate realised she had too many t shirts and would have to leave some at home so she had to decide which were her favourites and which went with which shorts! It's a long process which you can't rush!
