Mobile Yellowstone / Grand Teton National Parks

Has anyone done any of these parks? We are thinking about doing a park adventure for our honeymoon and I can currently in research mode.

If you have been do you have any good tips?

It was a few years ago we did a three week road trip starting and finishing in Denver. Our route took us to Cheyenne for the rodeo, Rapid City for Custer State Park, Mount Rushmore, Devil’s Tower, Deadwood and the Badlands, Sheridan for Battle of the Little Bighorn, Cody for Buffalo Bill Center of the West, West Yellowstone for the NP, Jackson Hole for Grand Teton NP, Estes Park for Rocky Mountain NP, Boulder and back to Denver. States visited: Colorado, South Dakota, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho. A brilliant trip.

Thanks both, I’ve just read both and they are both really helpful and make it more exciting! Lots of planning to do. We are planning to hire a camper and I think at the moment we’ll fly into Salt Lake City, do Grand Teton, Yellowstone and then maybe drive to Glacier National Park!

Did both a couple of years ago and can highly recommend it all.

We did an amazing balloon ride over Grand Teton.

Jackson Hole is well worth visiting too.

We also stayed just outside Yellowstone in a log cabin in Togwotee. Even saw a grizzly early one morning!

One of the other highlights was Monument Valley and driving the dirt track through Valley Of The Gods (Make sure you have the right vehicle for this).

It was all part of a road trip that started in Albuquerque, headed up to Grand Teton via Utah, on to Yellowstone and then back down to Albuquerque via Denver - about a 3500 mile circle.

roadtrippers/ is a good site to plan on.

These sound like great trips. I've done 25 States but not these areas and they are on my to do list.

:)

We have just returned from Yellowstone. We did Denver, Vail, Glenwood Springs, Rock Springs and Cody. Then we had a 4 night/5 day guided tour with ‘Yellowstone Tour Guides’. We left our cars at the Cody hotel and picked them up when we returned. In hindsight I think a 3 day guided tour would have been enough. At the end of the tour we had 4 nights in Cody, then Casper, Boulder and Denver. I struggled with the altitude in Denver and Vail and was healthier at the lower elevations. This grizzly bear feeding on a bison was the highlight of our trip.
