As I said before though I would sit tight, rent through Daves if needed and see how things work out... in a years time it could be that this has all 'blown over' so to speak.

If you have bought even a few years ago most are sitting on a hearty profit if they sell even after fees,
Thank you for that - a really helpful reply 👍. I’m guessing there are legal charges on top of that as well - I think renting is the way for us to go for now at least.

I would imagine that to be legal, there has to be equal points in to points out. Otherwise, resale buyers in 1 are paying for the facilities enjoyed by 2 with no equal use from people in 1.

So it will have to work a bit like RCI in reverse. There has to be enough people trading out and in.

Thus DVCMC may need as many points as possible as a buffer. How does it get points in sold out resorts?

My worry is this may be just the start of lockoff premium increases.
Exactly! - if this was a one off point increase I think I could swallow it (although I’m hearing on the ‘other’ board that the DVC sales team are STILL spinning the line about ‘whilst the points per night can occasionally change, the whole point chart overall can’t be increased’ - it’s the lying about that that has really upset me!)

But... I agree, I don’t think this is a one off increase - I really do hope the lawsuit or bad press hits them this year - I think this is them testing the water, and if they get away with it this year, then this is just the first step! ☹️

I would like DVCMC to issue a public statement on all of the points on whatswrongwithdvc and confirm categorically how many, if any, extra lockoff premium points have been made.
Then I can assess and come to a conclusion.
But so far, we are getting no answers.
Someone on the other board is mentioning going and asking for a meeting with senior DVCMC management, I’m not convinced that even if you asked, they’d engage.

Closing costs are normally paid by the buyer, however, that can be negotiated as part of the sale. If the contract was stripped I would ask the seller to pay for them as part of the deal, along with that year's dues, it's up to you really.
