Mobile Universal annual passes

My friend is going to Florida in October at the same time as us but is also going in 2020 so she is thinking of getting the annual pass for universal, will the year start when she buys them or when she first activates them in the parks? Thanks

To add though, the current offer passes have to be used before April 2019 so just make sure she gets ones valid for her dates

Also worth noteing that we bought 4 standard and 1 premium it’s about £100 more but you get free parking with the premium pass so if you plan going more than 6 times it works out better than way and then you also get discount on food in the parks.

They start from the date of entry. I managed to get 4, two park seasonal passes and 1, two park preferred pass for £0 after upgrading our 3 Park passes (we didn't want volcano bay) we also got 15 months on the seasonal and 18 months on the preferred xx

Reallly?
I think that is the cut-off date for the extra months offer.
To get the extra months renewals must happen by April 4, 2019.

^^Get six (6) additional months free on 2-Park and 3-Park Preferred or Premier Annual Pass renewals and three (3) additional months free on 2-Park and 3-Park Seasonal or Power Annual Pass renewals. Offer valid on Passes that renew from October 4, 2018 through April 4, 2019 only.

universalorlando/web...wal/index.html

It will be valid for 365 days from first activation.
If a pass is activated in October 2019, it will be valid to the same day in October 2020.

I had this question as I wanted to lock in annual pass price before any more rises, took a few emails but got the answer, the passes bought now would still be valid after April 19 just no additional months would be added.
