Hi thanks for reply, I think we will plan on driving up while it’s still light to see the Hollywood sign and then stay till it gets dark to see the city lit up, the photos I’ve seen look great😀

Hi - if you're not after a luxury hotel take a look at the Sea Shore motel in Santa Monica. I've stayed there twice and would recommend. Also free parking.
