So, I wonder, where is the poster who claimed TC wouldn't last this week?

I must've had my head completely in the sand the last few weeks, I had not idea what was going with TC and for the first time ever we booked our flights with them this year. I'm sure it's been asked and apologies in advance, but an I right in thinking flights are not "protected" the same way a package holiday is? Can someone confirm?

If your booking doesn’t have a ATOL/ABTA certificate then you won’t be covered in the same way as a package. If you booked using a CC you will be able to claim it back.

However I highly doubt you will have any issues.. even when the airline is sold. Just try not to panic. 👍🏻

We purchased ours with a credit card so we are covered. Flights only purchased from TC are not covered by atol etc. Apparently some good insurance cover is protected by airline failure insurance which is what I originally asked at the start of the post. Iv learnt a lot on here and now feel more confident that Thomas cook airlines are a good going concern and it’s the rest of the company that’s causing problems. Hopefully the posters of these comments are right and Thomas cook will keep going strong.

Thank you, in my haste I've found that they sent an Atol certificate, plus it was paid for in full with a credit card

That’s interesting that they sent an atol certificate. Did you book directly with TC. Does that mean all flights are atol protected.

Funny you should mention the atol cert. We flew with tc about 4 yrs ago and I booked in store cos I wanted to use vouchers and Im 90% sure I got sent at atol cert with the booking email. I remember being surprised at the time. I need to dig back through my emails to see.

Normally it’s the last page of your confirmation email
