I got $1.56 in thomas cook the other day... ordered online for same day pick up at local branch. Got email confirmation sent to my phone (which was aswell) as when I went in store she said she knew nothing of my order and rate was $1.51 I showed her email and she honoured what I had ordered at $1.56

We go round the travel agents to try and get best rate, so far weve been offered $1.547 but still holding out for abit more. Unfortunately at each place I was told that they dont sell travelers cheques

We got ours from Fairfx at 1.555, happy with that rate.

I got my money from Travelex with bonus airmiles. To be honest, for saving a few dollars here or there, I would just go to the most convenient place. Also used my Barclays debit card out there, as they didn't charge me, and gave me a rate at the time (as of May) of 1.54 which was more then fine.

I ordered and paid by card online with Fairfx... $1.56... delivered next day with no charges for any amount over £750... excellent service and would definately use them again
