I don't know how I'll be able to say this without offending the poster but it is IMPOSSIBLE to get $1.56 to the £ at the moment so I have no idea where they came up with that sum - I can only presume they have confused the selling of the £ ie when you change back you have to give $1.56 to get 1£ which is the selling rate not the buying rate.
The Americans do not like any other currency but their own, I tried to change some Canadian dollars we had left and I couldn't fing 1 bank that would touch them. I can only presume the poster was confused with the buying and selling rate as there is NO WAY that you would get such a good exchange rate in the USA. When you use your CC you only get the banking rate which is only a few cents more and certainly not neary 20c more. Now I'm ready to go when someone can show that I'm wrong.

[QUOTE=Sarah71;3112805]OK I am officially confused
We're all down 'cos the price of the $ to the £ is low over here (I think it was about $1.35 yesterday when I was out shopping). But reading a message today from a Dibber who has just returned, they said they got $1.56 to the £ in Mall of Millenia. so pleased you started this tread as me and dh have been talking about the mentioned post and could'nt work it out, lol |

I don't think you'll need to Heather, I thought the same .. buying/selling rate. Actually, I didn't think the same at all, someone at work advised me!
BTW .. great radio station!

Glad someone asked this question - I was wondering the same thing myself! Hope the OP of the other thread comes back to clear it up before every Dibber turns up at Macy's waving £20 notes and demanding $1.56 for them
