If you don’t want a scooter try a knee scooter - they got me through several ankle ops - much smaller than benign ina scooter and you will see them in the parks

I went on our big family trip with torn ankle ligaments and a crutch. For the first four days - all park days- I managed by walking slowly and sitting down at every opportunity. Day 5 was Legoland and by the time I’d hobbled from
the car park I said that’s it and hired a scooter. I wish I’d had one from the start to use when I needed it.

Insurance all sorted the only thing they won't cover me for is winter sports, and I'm going to play it day by day but appreciate the advice about the scooters (I didn't want to get one as I look in quite good shape apart from the dodgy peg) but if I do struggle I'll pick one up for the day

Watching the crowds was also the plan

I went - alone - a month after having knee surgery. I got assistance at the airport which was great, bought a walking stick out there which helped, but to be honest the best thing was hiring a mobility scooter. You can hire them in the parks but they are expensive or you can hire them from one of the many hire companies in Orlando - much cheaper and you then have use of it wherever you go. I hired one from a place on the 192 - sorry I can't remember what it was called - and it was very reasonable.

I can't go without crutches and a wheelchair now. I alternate between walking, being in the chair and crutches. Long term disability but look absolutely fine and like a normal 26 year old! I've had the judging looks, but they are so few a far between in comparison to the people who just want to help which is nice. But also I find awkward cause I don't use a wheelchair unless we're on long days out in the UK. I hate using it, but I couldn't believe how much I would have missed without out. I didn't have one in 2013, we borrowed one from Disney in 2015 and OH wouldn't let me go in 2016 without it.

We're in the process of looking at buying one for this year - just a cheapish one! Hope you get something sorted you are comfortable with!

I'd probably consider seeing if the trip could be postponed.
