We often go right first - unless heading for Big Thunder Mountain. It’s the way we roll.

I agree that 7DMT is a fastpass ride. So, after doing everything in Tomorrowland, head over for your first fastpass at 7DMT (with the second and third possibly being BTMR and Splash).

Slightly different tact here, as a first ride I’d go for either the People Mover, or do a full lap of the park on the train.

DH suggested the jungle cruise on my first trip as an introduction. Then pirates and BTM. We always go left on the way round. He was most excited about getting me to see phillamagic as well.

For a first timer the first attraction has to be the ferry across to MK.

I’d go for either Splash Mountain or Haunted Mansion.

The first time I went was with friends who had been before. They went left and worked their way systematically round the park, so the first thing I ever went “on” was the Swiss Family Treehouse

Trying for More Ears

For us, in both WDW and Disneyland Paris, the 1st morning tradition is just a slow walk up Main Street, hearing the music again and letting it sink in that we are there, walk through the castle and then onto the carousel for the 1st ride. we try to keep it really simple for the 1st morning wandering where our feet take us until a leisurely breakfast at Crystal Palace around 10ish. Then come the fast passes and full on for the next 2 weeks until we come home needing another holiday!

Getting Excited

Our first day at MK we hooked a left straight into Adventure Land and did Jungle Cruise followed by Pirates. We then just naturally looped around the park to Haunted Mansion, Small World, Pan, Little Mermaid etc.

If I was to pick one ride to start with, I think it would be Space or Splash Mountain, but then I hate darting all over the park in different directions rather than a simple route.

Go left to Pirates of the Caribbean for a slow starter, picking up a Dole Whip on the way past the ice cream stand.
