Mobile 14 Day Disney Pass

This was a question from a friend and I wanted to check the advice I've given is correct.
They fly out July 1st and have a FP booked for the evening they arrive. But they're worried activating their ticket on arrival day means they won't be able to access the park on departure day? (15th). Is this correct?
Their second plan was to cancel the FP for arrival day and do disney springs, set up their magic band and be ready to go for a full first day. But they're also worried linking their tickets to magic bands on arrival day will activate the tickets a day early and leave them stu k on departure day.
We only really do Walmart and food on arrival day so unsure what advice to offer? Any help? Many thanks!

If they aren’t going to a Disney park for a day then they can use it for check in/check out day. If they plan to visit a park everyday then I wouldn’t do one on arrival so it can be used on the last day instead.

They can set up their magic band no problem, the ticket is only activated once you tap in to a park for the first time.

We don't plan any parks on arrival day as we prefer to settle into our rooms, get organised, look around the hotel and usually plan on DS for the evening then an early night for a full packed day in the morning!

They should be able to use the ticket on their last day assuming they haven't used the ticket on every single day between the first and last day.

However one DIBBer did post something the other day about someone being refused entry on their 15th day, although the details were sketchy.

Linking their MagicBands will not activate the tickets.

Tickets are only activated when they are first used to enter a theme park, water park, or mini-golf course.
