Mobile Tui - changing package to flight only...

We currently have a package deal booked for Lanzarote next October but we’re considering changing the booking to flight only with TUI instead. Do they let you do that? I’ve tweeted them but can’t call as I’m at work so thought I would pop on here and ask. The only thing is flight only for October is £2744 for 2 adults and 2 kids aged 11 & 13...I’m used to flying into Miami so not sure what’s a good price!

Hi. Don't think they will. We had flydrive and needed to change dates. They wouldn't let us change to flight only. Had to be to flydrive or package. Hopefully they will find something for you

I wouldn't have thought so. I suspect you'd have to cancel the package (and lose the deposit) and rebook as a flight only. But I could be wrong.

For flights only that sounds expensive. That's £686 per person for European flights.

We were looking for an All-Inclusive package this October and the total price was less than that (although there are just 3 of us not 4 and I was mainly looking at Jet2). And that included the hotel stay and all our food.

The £2744 was for Thomson flights to Sanford. I’d never pay that for flights to Europe lol.

Thanks, so you’re both right and they won’t allow me to change it to flight only, I’ve paid some deposit but if I cancel it then I have to pay the full deposit amount which is another 300 so would loose £600. I’m wondering if I did lose £600, and flights were £2000 to Florida then it’s still cheaper than flights with Thompson...I dunno I’m not making sense to myself lol

Oh, I took that to mean it was the price for flights only to Lanzarote (as per the rest of your post), not Sanford.

Wait? So you were asking if you could change your package holiday to Lanzarote to flights to Orlando?

BTW, the price for flights to Sanford seem reasonable to me. Not the cheapest but certainly not the most expensive either.

Yes lol, but would be happy to pay the extra for flights...I just didn’t really want to lose the deposit we’ve paid. I can change it to a package deal to Orlando with 10 nights at Cabana Bay in a family suite (which is what we would want) but is £4K for flights & hotel/transfers. If I was to cancel Lanzarote as a whole I would lose £800. Which is lot of money!

Is £4K too much for 10 nights with direct flights to Orlando and hotel? We usually fly to Miami and stay at Disney for 5 nights and then move on to a villa but I want to do it a bit differently this time!

Sorry for the confusion - been a long day at the perils of the nhs 😂

Have u asked them if u can change to flydrive? Even if you just took the smallest car and didn't collect? If you go into destinations part of their website and type in flydrive then search your dates u should get prices

No, I don't think so. Sounds like a reasonably good price to me, especially if it's during the half-term school holidays.

Mind you, you'll probably be able to get a cheaper price if you are flexible with your dates, fly indirect, stay at a cheaper offsite hotel (etc).

I booked it in the end and it does cover Oct half term, was £4200 as I upgraded to a family suite at Cabana Bay. I was basing flights into Orlando at £500-600 each direct (would usually go to Miami but as we only have 10 days to play with I didn’t want to spend 2 of them driving) and Cabana Bay with virgin & travel republic flight only was £1300 for a family suite if booked as hotel only so is prob a little right. We have free Disney tickets and 2 free nights at a moderate to use so will see if I can fit them in or use on another trip!

Very excited now!
