My DH is a hertz gold member but the price was a lot dearer. It was cheaper (over £200) to book as a guest using an Amex discount code.

You should be OK with your AA card and the AAA temp card for the Hertz offer.

All you need to show is you AA card that has the ARC sign on the back. Been doing it for years in USA & Canada with no problem. Only had it queried once n just showed the AA printed page that tells you about the benefits.
