buying ticket with miles but only for 2 members

Hi all,

got 90K virgin airmiles and that can currently get me 2 tickets in august but for the other 2 members i would need to pay £1000 each at the moment.

In your experiences do you find that as sales and lower ticket prices come on sale the miles seats disappear.

Cheers all

Miles rewards are hit and miss, they can be there one minute and gone the next, if I was in your position I would the be booking the 2 seats with miles, if for any reason the flight prices don’t come down and you have changed your mind you can cancel or amend reward flights for a charge of £30 each, full taxes refunded and miles returned.

As Tink says, i would definitely be booking those 2 miles seats now. There is lots of availability for next August at the moment, but it won't be around for long. You're only risking £60 if you need to change/cancel them.

The miles seats won't disappear if there are sales on, they only disappear when they are booked.
If they're reducing the prices on flights it means there's plenty of availability, which means more chance of them releasing more reward seats, not taking them away.
