If you can, I would recommend packing a few snacks for the flight because Air Canada is not the most generous airline when it comes to food, nor do they have the nicest crews. I've flown on 13 flights with them in the past 2 years and there is no sign of improvement. Even though I speak French, I decided to test the Montreal-based crew on their willingness to speak English and each and every time I would say something in English their response was in French. If you get "lucky" with a crew like that, just think of what your ticket cost and don't let it get to you!
I have flown with AC so many times I have lost count. This year alone possibly 16 flights and not come across the problem with speaking French... which I dont... how strange! We pass through Montreal a lot and even if airport staff speak to us in French once they realize we are English they quickly reply in English. They usually speak in English first though! Thank goodness otherwise I wouldnt know what they are saying! Have to say only once, have we ever had a small issue with the AC flight crew, and on the whole find them very good. No worse than any other airline we have used.

Thank you for the suggestion - I'll be sure to bring some sarnies. I've heard before that the AC crew are rude. But you just cannot whack that price!

I find Air Canada is Ok but Air Canada Rouge awful they really should sue the charm school ... but at that price I'd still go , taking a pack up and headphones and tablet and love the saving ! You can get a stroppy cabin crew on any airline , I'll take the saving over better odds of a nicer inflight waitress. I don't care enough about that aspect to pay hundreds more to reduce the odds !
