We live in North Manchester so only about a 20/30 min drive to the airport. The only time i would consider using another airport would be if the flights were considerably cheaper. Our DD lives in South London and the drive back from hers is bad enough couldn't imagine doing it after a 9hr flight.

We have booked airport transfers as we are about 2 and a half hours from Gatwick and I just don't fancy that drive on the way back. I can just sit back and let someone else take care of it. In the grand scheme of what is already a ridiculous sum of money for this holiday, an extra £270 didn't seem that bad, particularly as it also means we don't have to pay for parking at th airport for 3 weeks.
